with every that is going on is it smart to enlist in the military now? (either marines or army if u must know). i ask cuz of every the bullshit going on now. like Obama rumors that he may be purposely driving us into the ground to open us up for easy attack. or that al queda 7 situation. i have no problem fighting and dying but i refuse to led to my death to die for no reason by some jackass who is TRYING to bring us down or by some corrupt (i mean the ones that are really corrupt, u know the more than usually ones.) officials who would have a few nameless faceless battalions die to line their pockets to receive that nice jet they always wanted. i don't keep up to date on politics or nothing so i would like some one who is well versed to assist me in making sure i don't participate inna suicide program, and then i don't even know if any of these accusations are true. i don't wanna enlist and be forced to desert cuz i feel like my group is being used for malicious deeds.

Open Question: My bf is having a baby from his ex-girlfriend and it is killing me?

Im 20 years old and he is 25 years old. He works as a nurse and I am graduating nurse this june 2010. We were together since August and he broke up wit his ex-gf last April because the chick cheated with his other baby dad. We just found out he is the dad of the his ex gf's baby born on November 2009. His ex-gf wants him back soo bad that she is using the baby making things difficult. It takes a strong person with no problems in life & has good self-esteem to be holding on to this. Me and my boyfriend adore each other. THE TWIST IS: I AM MARRIED last January 2010 and have no kids. My marriage is suppose to be for my visa papers but along the process we had a special relationship. I end everything last year of March even if my papers is just being process. My husband wants to help me still wit my papers even if I dont want him but secretely he trying everything to make my marriage work. But I regret my marriage since I realize I need to grow & mature as a person more & I dnt want him to receive hurt. He is a nice, responsible person but i realize he is not for me. My husband resides in California as a marines..NO SEX WAS INVOLVED BETWEEN US BUT HE adore ME TO THE FULLEST. i've had dreams a pal down the road, she my height i'm 6'2" shes 5'11", with long hair and shes an honestly gorgeous girl and i didn't take my chance with her when i had it but now that i'm going into the Marines shes the only girl i truly believe i can trust her and i ask her if she would date me when i went in and she said of course she would. not that i cant trust the girl i'm with now but im just not that attracted to her because i usually have dreams about girls that i just got with and me and he have been dating since 12-31-09. but i don't understand why I haven't had one dream of her. but i've had dreams of the girl i truly want to be with. but if i'm going to break up with my current girlfriend how would i do it? how do you break up with someone when i was there first kiss and the best boyfriend she ever had. shes 16 and this was her first kiss and i'm 18. I was told by a good pal of mine, he was almost my step dad, that don't ever settle for something less then happiness. so do i just break up with her, because i'm not going to be glad with her forever, i would be a lot happier with the girl down the road, she 16 too but her dad likes me and knows my family.

Open to every branches preferrably the Marine Corps what jobs will allow me to fly in the US Military straight out of boot camp/basic training excluding pilot. Are there any branches that allow there enlisted to be a pilot. I was thinking a Crew Chief would be fun but could I actually receive that as a E1. Open Question: Being a Combat Vet with a honorable discharge, am I allowed to wear my Dress Blues on a Marine Corps Base?

My old unit is getting ready to return back from Afghanistan, and they have lost several Marines. I'm just wondering if I am allowed to wear my dress blues onto Camp Lejeune, during the Honoring of the fallen Marines? Open Question: How to pay for college: Military vs. Dancing?

So I've hit a rut. I have to pay for college, but I don't know how I want to go about it. I could join the military, or start dancing in a strip club. I know there are advantages and disadvantages to both. And I could do either equally as easily. If I go into the military, they will pay for my college AND MORE, but I will have my individuality stripped, and they will possess me for the next four years. If I go into dancing, that will pay for my college faster, and I won't have to leave town or give up a lot of the things I adore. But, theres always the risk of someone I know dancing, and loosing the respect of friends/family. If I join the military, I'll likely be joining the air force, the navy, or the marines. Thoughts? Pros and cons to each?

Open Question: Can i keep monos in freshwater?

At a fish store, I recently saw that they had two tanks with mono argentus. One housed saltwater fish aswell as monos and scats (in full marine)...and the other had monos with plecos (in freshwater). The seller said monos are fine if kept in fresh, brackish, or salt, as long as you aclimate them properly thats why he sold them in different waters. Has anyone had any real experience with monos in FW??

I am a high school junior with a less than stellar GPA and behind on a few classes I am making up this summer with online classes approved by my school.I want to sign up for the extended Delayed entry program in may,my counselor says that my transcript wont show that i am enrolled in the online classes. so it will appear that I am not on track to graduate next june, till I actually pass the courses, who knows about Marine Corps regs....is there something i can receive from the college that I am taking the online courses through that will show the corps that i am enrolled for those credits, so that I can enlist in the dep program in may. thanks for the responses so far, but every I need to know is, how can I prove to the corps that I am enrolled in these courses, even my recruiter is not sure what the regs are...any usmc recruiters out there?

Open Question: Why do Coloradoans look down on people from the southeast?

Why do Coloradoans take this "holier than thou" attitude towards people from the southeast? Do they really think that they are really any better than say someone from Nebraska, Kansas, Tennessee, or North Carolina? Now, I don't have the "deep south" dialect, but I do have the TN/NC dialect which is definitely different from that of MOST people who live in Colorado. I've had so many people ASSUME that I MUST be from TX and they are shocked when I say that I'm from east TN/western NC. I think that alot of Coloradoans think that we are stupid, less intelligent, or even racist just because we are from that area of the country. This could not be further from the truth. If you are a Coloradoan reading this I'm not necessarily saying that this applies to you, but what I am saying is that i've seen read the negative body language from Coloradoans whenever they ask me where I'm from and I tell them where I'm from. With that being said, I was in the Marines for five years of my life and was subsequently around folks from every over this country and guess what? Gasp, there are good folks and a@@holes and racists that arrive from every regions of this country to include my native southeast. I sincerely believe that where I am from is why I haven't been able to find a g/f or date here in Colorado Springs, CO. The moral of the story is that a person should be judged based on who they are on the inside and as an individual and NOT where they are from and/or grew up.

Open Question: Now what? I am screwed!?

I got arrested and charged with felonies 16 years ago. Drug related. I spent time in jail, treatment middle & 5 years probation because of my charges. During the start of every that I finally met the right lady and she got pregnant with my son, who I will just call B here. When he was born & the doctor handed him to me I then understood what true adore was! I immediately became a much more mature adult who stopped partying and stayed away from drugs and trouble since then. He probably saved my life by just being born. His mom started getting in trouble though and eventually left us to start partying with new friends. Damn, wrong lady! I filed for full custody and got it. We have not seen or heard from her since then (14 years now). When he was a year old I really did meet my soulmate & we got married. She is his real mom..not some girl who had a kid and split. Anyways, he calls her mom & we are still married today, 13 years now. About a year ago, my son, "B" started high school and puberty/adolescence at the same time. He has always been a good kid who loves video games and drawing. Over the past year he changed completely and started hanging out with the wrong crowd at school. I started getting calls from the school every the time and would have to leave work to pick him up or have a meeting. Employers would put up with time off for so long and I got fired. With my felony backgroung it is impossible to find another job & with the economy. But somehow I would, just to lose it because of the same thing. 4 jobs in 6 months and have been unemployed for the past 6 months (1 year total) since his behavior. I disciplined him from tiny to big during this time. Also had him at counselors, psychiatrists, therapists, youth pastor in church and every other assistance. He has been baker acted to behavior clinics 4 times this year and has been failing 5 of 7 classes. He refuses to do homework and schoolwork. He will even tell me no. I am 6'6" tall 230lbs. & a veteran of the marine corps infantry division/combat decorated(alot of reason for drugs when I got out) I can't believe he tells me no. When he gets punished he runs away and won't hear. Well, last week at school he got upset and set flame to a toilet paper holder in school bathroom & was caught. Nobody got hurt thank goodness andthe was little damage 25$. The police went to the school and charged him with Arson 1st degree. Which is a felony of the first degree. He has been expelled from school for 2 years and is currently in juvenile detention. Court is this Thursday. I am devestated! Have not slept in days! Unemployed! Marriage is in trouble from his behavior! I have no friends..everyone either smokes weed or drinks here in the redneck county we live in. Don't want any of that around me or family. My son is screwed, he may have this follow him when he looks for work as an adult. I know from experience that he will only be able to receive sorry jobs that only start you around 8-10 $an hour. I am so stressed and don't know what will happen next in my life! Damn! Damn! every I have been doing since he was born is searching for happiness and makng better decisions. What the hell for? What will happen in my life next? I have many more things that have happened with bad things but was during my military service. I will not mention them now. I gotta go, bad luck is waiting for me...DAMN IT!

Open Question: is collagen in makeup good to use my fiances mom has scleroderma a collagen disease?

i was wondering if collagen in makeup is something that is safe to use? or if it puts you in danger for something like scleroderma which is an overproduction of collagen in the body an autoimmune disease i have seen the pain she is going through but its difficult to find like eye makeup that doesnt have either vitamin c (which promotes collagen production in area applied) or marine collagen. is one safer to use than the other or is it best to stay away from it every together even if i am not related to my fiances mom? the doctors say it isnt something that is even predisposed it just happens! and bob saget seems to think it is because of makeup and products that have collagen in them( his sister died of the disease) he is part of the reason they have to list if their products have the ingredient included. Open Question: Not parenting related, but I need some help on deciding which one to use?

I tried posting this in Marriage & Divorce, but someone reported it (I have no clue why) and it was deleted. My husband is currently deployed. Our 5th wedding anniversary was a few weeks ago and (unfortunately) he missed it. I've been working on a scrapbook for a few months, we took anniversary photos before he left so I could add them to the scrapbook. Open Question: Is there anyway to get out off attending an 18 month DUI class?

on my 18th birthday i was charged with driving without a license, and a minor with a BAC (blood alcohol content) less than .08. i was not charged with a dui and the courts didnt mandate me take DUI classes, but the DMV did. Any loop holes i can exploit to receive out of this? the reason i ask is because im currently enlisted in the Marine Corps and desperately need a license, and dont have the time to attend these classes for a year and a half. Open Question: Why do some men shave their eyebrows?

I have seen 2 guys below age 30 in the last year who have completely shaved off their eyebrows, I mean left nothing, and they keep the eyebrows shaved. One guy was a cop with a Marine haircut who looked bad-ass and could probably break me into tiny pieces with one hand. The other guy was a warehouse worker who kinda looked like he could live at a group home. Is this a new fashion craze, is it a secret society, is their some new sport where you wear goggles that are incompatible with eyebrows? Open Question: which branch of the military should i join?

just to clear this up right now, this is not one of those dumb questions asking "is the marines better than the army". i am considering two options the Marines and the Army. im asking this question because i want to know why people pick one branch over the other. im planning on joining infantry and i want to know whats the difference. and if there are any soilders reading this please tell me why you chose the branch you are serving. By the way- im waiting on talking to a recruiter for a couple months im just doing a little research before i sit down with one

Im not sure which would best fit me especially only being 18. Im very athletic, im a difficult worker, and looking to look some action. Which would best fit me?

Open Question: MP Soldiers stationed at Camp Lejeune?

I'm currently a US Army Reserve, Military Police soldier. I'm desperately considering trying to transfer to RA, Active Duty. I've been absolutely miserable doing the one thing I adore, only one weekend a month. He's an infantry Marine on Camp Lejeune - I actually went into the Reserves in the first place so that he could be active. If I become active, will I be ABLE to be stationed at Camp Lejeune, because we're married and supposed to keep us within a certain distance, or will I be stationed at Fort Bragg? I'm already enlisted in the Army - if I wanted to be in the Corps, I would have joined the Corps to start with :o). My contract doesn't expire until 2014, because I had a 6 year contract with the Reserves. I really don't want to wait 4 more years to go active duty. Being a civillian 28 days out of the month is absolutely destroying me.. I can't even explain how miserable I am every month.
